Ancillary Care Services (ACS) has stayed abreast of the regulations issued by the Department of Health and Human Services regarding the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). Final rules have been issued and implemented for standardized electronic transactions, privacy, national employer identifier, and security. ACS is prepared for the national provider identifier compliance date in May 2007. We are committed to supporting our clients with compliance with these regulations.
We have established policies and procedures and implemented aspects of the regulations that impact our services, including system enhancements. Our directory contains all providers who are participating in the Ancillary Care Services (ACS) network, according to ACS's records. Every effort was made to ensure the accuracy of the information; however, changes occur daily and may not yet be included in the directory. Therefore, it is possible that the provider you select is not currently participating in the PPO network. Please confirm the provider's participation by calling the provider directly.
The provider you select may not be available to all ACS clients due to individual benefit plan or network restrictions. Additionally, the provider may not offer the ACS contracted rate for all services. Please confirm your benefits by calling your Health Plan Benefit Administrator or Insurance Company.
It is ACS's policy to verify the contact and professional information for each provider participating in the ACS network every three years.Precertification Disclaimer
Ancillary Care Services' determination regarding the medical appropriateness of an admission, procedure or continued stay, whether approval or deferral, is based on the information received and does not guarantee payment of benefits. Benefits are also subject to eligibility and coverage restrictions at the time services are rendered, which must be verified by the Employer/Policyholder or Payer.
